Sheridan is a ColorCycler!

Recycle Your Used Markers At Sheridan!

Sheridan has now registered to be an official "ColorCycler"! We will be collecting used markers that are ready to be discarded. The markers will be sent to a Crayola facility where they will be converted into clean fuel. This fuel can be used to power vehicles, heat homes, cook meals and more!

Please help support our efforts by saving any used markers you may have around your home – even non-Crayola brands - and placing them in the drop-off box located in the office.

Parking Lot Safety

posted May 6, 2016, 9:00 AM by Francesca Matthews   [ updated Sep 15, 2016, 6:40 AM by Karen Bonanno ]

We have 4 Main Traffic Concerns:
Please help us to make our parking lot as safe as it can be for our students, staff and families.
Main Parking Area:
If you wish to leave your car, to escort your child to the playground, please park in the main parking area or on the steert in identified areas. Please be careful when backing up and do not block any of the driveway space.
Entry and Exit:
The West double driveway is entry only, you must drive through the Kiss and Ride Area to exit using the East Driveway.
Kiss and Ride Area:
Please drop off on the right hand side of the Kiss and Ride, the staff on duty will ensure that your child passes safely to the playground area. There is no parking or leaving your car in this area.
Bus Lane:
Please do not use the bus lane between 8:20-8:50 and 3:00-3:30. During this time our buses need clear access to the property, and our students need to be loaded and unloaded safely.
Should you have any concerns please contact the school.

Welcome To Sheridan

Please note that our main source of information for Sheridan Families is now housed on EDSBY. This is a closed system for parents and students registered at Sheridan Public School. If you need help logging on, please contact the office.

On behalf of the staff, I would like to welcome you to our website and to Sheridan Public School! We look forward to working with our school community to create the best possible environment for learning. We can all work together to make Sheridan Public School a place where students feel safe and are given many opportunities to succeed.

We welcome the involvement of parents as volunteers in the classrooms, through membership on School Council or participation in fundraising and special activities. Please remember that in order to volunteer you will need to have a Police check with a Vulnerable Sector Screening on file with us.

We continue to work together as a staff to develop strategies and goals that focus on school improvement including Language, Mathematics and Health and Well Being. Our goals are shared with School Council on a regular basis. School Council attendance is encouraged for all parents, we meet in the staff room the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm. Please bring your ideas and concerns to share with the Council.

Communication is key to successful partnership between home and school. Our doors are always open and parents are welcome to make appointments to speak to me or to their child’s teacher when issues or questions need to be addressed. Please remember that no issue or question you may have is too small to be addressed by staff. Should you have a larger issue please contact me by email or phone 905-845-3925 at your convenience. Your question or concern may be the same one that another parent has.

Thank you for entrusting your children to our care.

Mrs. Karen Bonanno

Pizza Day Coming Up!!

posted Apr 7, 2016, 12:19 PM by Francesca Matthews   [ updated Sep 15, 2016, 6:45 AM by Karen Bonanno ]

Each Wednesday we offer pizza for purchase at $2.00 per slice. Order forms will go out once per term so that you can order and forget! If you do not pre-order or there is a week that you would like to purchase an additional slice, please send exact change with your child on that day.
Please consider using the cashless option when ordering for the term as this prevents lost cheques or cash between home and school.
