Volunteers Needed
We are in need of several volunteers for various positions in the school. Please consider volunteering in the office as part of our Absence Check program one morning per week, working with a team of parents to prepare and serve our Healthy Snack program to all students one or more times per week, helping in our library, serving up pizza twice per month, or being a classroom volunteer. With your help, we can make this the best year ever for our kids. Please call today.
Volunteers Training
Volunteer training for those new to the role of Sheridan Volunteer will be offered in the Library on September 30 at 9:30 a.m. The session will take about an hour.

Girls on the Run
This after school program has been lots of fun for the students and coaches who have participated. The girls have had great discussions about a variety of topics designed to increase personal and physical strength and endurance. The program ended with a 5k run/walk event at Downsview Park in Toronto on Sunday, June 6. It was a fabulous celebration of our hard work. Special thanks to Heather Brooks, Head Coach, and Jessica Roosevelt, Assistant Coach.

SCHOOL COUNCIL NEWS
Welcome Back!
School Council is excited to once again serve Sheridan during the upcoming school year. First thing on the agenda is to build a council of parents, guardians, school staff, and community members that will work together to enrich the school experience for all Sheridan students and achieve the objectives of the School Improvement Plan. All Sheridan parents/guardians are eligible to become a member of the Sheridan school council. It is a great way to get involved in the life of our school and the processes that shape it.
Notice of School Council Election

School Council elections have been scheduled for September 21st at 7:00pm in the staff room. If you are interested in joining school council, please complete and submit the nomination form, and join us at the September 21st meeting.   Hope to see you there!
